Roimata Sinclair Contemporary Maori Art serves as a vessel to project and share my current works and research toward my final exhibition in November 2017 as a third year Bachelors of Maori Visual Arts student at Toihoukura - School of Contemporary Maori Visual Arts.

The goal is to create paintings and greenstone artworks that highlight the state of our waterways and environment in NZ from an indigenous perspective. The aim is to establish discussions on sustainability.

THE POSTS BELOW ARE A COLLECTION OF RESOURCES, PROCESSES AND EXPERIENCES THAT WILL CREATE THE THEORY BEHIND MY ARTWORKS
There will be a focus on several areas that contribute to the provenance of the artworks such as:
CONNECTION: why pounamu (greenstone) is an important medium to me
WAIORA/WATER: collating information on the disappointing state of our national waterways
PAINTING PROCESSES: explanations of works
POUNAMU PROCESSES: Explanations of how to work stone and explorations/experiments using the medium
